In order to keep mouse stay in proper position all the time when in the maze, some calibration other than PID are need to reduce the chance to crash.

As a matter of fact, most of the Micromouse use infrared sensor to keep distance with wall when running, and it’s very easy to be affected by environmental light(noise) consequently cause crash. Gyro is widely use for all kinds of robots these days, and it provides a reliable feedback for micromouse when the mouse needs to turn with a accurate angle or angular velocity to continue the search.
